Letter from Charles LePallieur, 6 August 1791
Item
1 folded sheet
Charles Léonard Lepallieur was born on 4 June 1766, the son of Charles Lepallieur and Louise Roy. He decided to embark on a career as a fur trader in 1790, heading out to Michilimackinac, and later to the north-eastern United States. Though he initially had very poor luck with his business, he eventually found some success.
Letter from Charles Leonor LePallieur to James Morrison with family greetings and general news of his outfit, with a reminder about his proposition of a partnership prompted by the lack of goods available in Mackinac.
In French with an English translation. Letter contains an antisemitic comment about another trader.
