Dr. Wilson Cary Nicholas Randolph was born on October 25, 1834, in Charlottesville, Virginia.
He was an American physician. He studied at the University of Virginia (M.D., 1854) and Jefferson Medical College, Philadelphia (M.D., 1855). He practiced medicine in Fredericksville, Albemarle County, Virginia. In 1861, he was appointed a surgeon in the Confederate Army. In 1865, he became a Prisoner of War after being surrendered by Gen. Robert E. Lee to Gen. U. S. Grant in Lynchburg, Virginia. After the Civil War, he continued to practice in Fredericksville and Charlottesville. He served as a Rector of the University of Virginia from 1890 to 1897.
In 1858, he married Mary Elizabeth (Nannie) Holladay (1839–1888), and in 1891, he married Mary McIntire (1853–1937). He died on April 26, 1907, in Charlottesville, Virginia.
