Jean-Baptiste Romuald Fiset was born on February 7, 1843, in Saint-Cuthbert, Lanaudiere Region, Quebec.
He was a Canadian physician and politician. He studied medicine at the Collège de Montréal and the Université Laval and opened his practice in Rimouski. In 1872, he was elected to the House of
Commons as a Liberal candidate and got re-elected again in 1874, 1878 and 1887. In 1897, he was appointed Senator for the Division of the Gulf of Saint Lawrence, Quebec, a post he held until his death.
In 1869, he married Marie Florrine Aimée Plamondon (1848–1905). In 1911, he married Emilina Loranger (1856-1916). He died on January 5, 1917, in Rimouski, Quebec.
