Primrose & Rudolf was a firm involved in insurance, lumber, shipbuilding, coal mines, and the Marine Railroad Company in Pictou, Nova Scotia. William Norman Rudolph (1835-1886) began as an employee in the shipping and banking firm of James Primrose (1803-1882), whose other senior partners were his sons Clarence Primrose (1830-1902) and Howard Primrose (1833-1906). After the retirement of the founder James Primrose in 1864, Rudolph joined the firm as a one-quarter shareholder and the firm became known as Primrose & Rudolf. It was dissolved in 1870.
Letter from Primrose & Rudolph to John William Dawson, written from Pictou.
