Book, [A Morsel of Bread] Rabbi Elisa Habillo [Hebrew]
File contains a printing of Rabbi Elisha Hablllo's work 'A Morsel of Bread' [English translation of title], written in Hebrew. The book was published in Livorno [Leghorn], Italy in 1794 by Raphael Meldola (1754-1828), Abraham de Sola's maternal grandfather. The book is a description of the grace and blessings that should be used in conjunction with meals as well as any rules that accompany these blessings. Also included in the book was a clipping from 1850 from the JewIsh Chronicle authored by D. Meldola regarding the work of scholar Philoxeme Luzzato. This "D. Meldola" is possibly David Meldola (1797-1853), eldest son of Raphael Meldola and a co-founder of the Jewish Chronicle. An English translation of the book's title page is provided In the file.
