Features additional notes in Gwillim's hand regarding crocodile's size and where it was found: on the drawing in pencil, a small number "51," "10 feet [unclear]," and "A [unclear] aligator taken from the ditch at Vellore." Other pencil inscriptions on the mat read, "Crocodilus palustris" (at side) and "Crocodilus palustris / A aligator taken from the ditch at _ ?" (at bottom). The "10 feet" on the drawing has been re-written underneath.

Voyageur contract for Jean Clavelle

Contract between Jean Clavelle of Faubourg St. Laurent and the outfitter Parker, Gerrard, Ogilvy & Co. Contract outlines Clavelle's employment as a day labourer with the destination of the Bay of Quinty, Upper Canada, for the payment of 72 livres per month. The contract notes that he received an advance of 8 piastres and his wife is to be paid 8 piastres per month after his departure.

Letter and subpoena

File include two items: a letter from William McGillivray to Jacob Oldham concerning trade between Lower Canada and Bermuda and subpoena for Joseph Briere to appear in a cause in which one of the requestors is William McGillivray.
