File contains a letter written by Simon McGillivray to his creditors of the various firms wherein he was a partner. McGillivray presents the worth of several of his assets in an attempt to ease the creditors and assure them that the Deed he has send will be honoured if they sign it.

File consists of 13 autograph letters from John to Robert Abraham, on subjects including the 'almost childishly curious' nature of a 'Mr Thompson', family news, business matters, and a 23-day walk from Liverpool to London.

Covering letter from Francis Colborne (son of Sir John Colborne) to de Lery Macdonald, written 27 June 1895; handwritten copy of a letter from Colborne to Fitzroy Somerset (Horse Guards), originally written 22 December 1837, written from Montreal, and addressed to "My Lord."

Four letters from George Young to Noel [Buxton] and five letters from Young's son, also named George Young. The file also inculdes two letters to Mr. Buxton from Margaret Young, wife of Horace Edward Wilkie Young (1877-1914).
