File consists of ten letters from Rudyard Kipling to various correspondents, including George Iles, H. C. Spikins, Gerhard Lomer, and Sir Arthur Currie. One letter is from Carrie Kipling to Walter Rowland. Some of the letters to Dr. Lomer (McGill librarian) and Principal Currie are copies.

Includes a memorandum written by Brown on the "commotions" of 1837 in Lower Canada.

Consists of an essay on the form of Government of Canada written in Brown's hand on four and a half folio leaves.
