The fonds contains the company's business correspondence related to the importation of food products, essences, and spices from international manufacturers, and other business expenditures, as well as some correspondence with government regulators regarding food labeling and quality. In addition, some letters are from charitable and cultural organizations to which the company donated. Some personal correspondence of Henri Jonas is included, as well as numerous restaurant bills and and menus, including for the Montreal Hunt Club.

Chiefly found is incoming correspondence with product suppliers and invoices for various services, including car repair, advertising, stationary, funeral arrangements, and photography. Suppliers include companies from France, Germany, Norway, UK, Italy, Sicily, Hungary, China, India, and Spain. Products include essential oils, soaps and luxury food products such as sardines, truffles, preserves, jam, Hungarian paprika, Chinese tea, olive oil, caviar, liqueurs, foie gras, sardines, and ketchup. Three catalogues from French producers received by Henri Jonas & Co. include "Pates alimentaires Lyonnaises" (Bertrand & Cie,), "Les liqueurs de G. A. Jourde, Bourdeaux," and "Usine des visitandines conserves alimentaires" (A. Bosc & Cie) (File 3). Two Montreal-area manufacturers are represented, with a catalogue from Couvrette Sauriol Limitée (1937) and a brochure for the Stuart Brothers. Included is one letter from postwar France soliciting renewed a commercial relationship following the allied victory (Royal Champignon). There are also bulletins from and correspondence with, including one outgoing letter, the Canadian Department of Agriculture regarding quality and labelling of canned fruits and vegetables.

A few letters are personal in nature and addressed to Henri Jonas himself. There are also telegrams and letters from Canadian organizations such as the Pacific Railway Company, and Canadian societies and organizations to which the company donated money (Canadian Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals, Montreal Orchestra, Hospital for Sick Children London, Salvation Army, McGill University Centennial Endowment).

Some of the company's advertising materials are also found, as well as food labels for products including mushrooms, wine, truffles, olive oil, sardines, and lemonade).

These scattered Henry family papers, except for a few letters from William Taft and about Dr. Bowditch addressed to John Stewart Henry, 1929-30, reflect Leila Henry's interest in family history. They include genealogical charts, a biographical sketch of Lysbeth Dawson Murdoch, and a copy of a Banffshire newspaper of 1894 reprinting sections of Barbara Mitchell's diary of her return journey from Nova Scotia to Scotland.

Mintzberg's papers comprise student materials, office files, and papers relating to his publications. Student materials contain course notes from both the engineering (1956-1961) and management (1961-1968) phases of Mintzberg's education, as well as research notes and drafts for his doctoral thesis "The Manager at Work". His McGill office files contain reports, minutes and memoranda for various faculty committees (1968-1976); correspondence, particularly regarding the M.B.A. programme (1970-1976); course outlines (1968-1973); and files on his Ph.D. students (1974-1976) (Restricted). Papers relating to publications include research notes, working papers, and drafts of articles and books, as well as correspondence about his writings (1968-1978).

The company's records contain administrative, financial and publicity material. The administrative series comprises the minutes of the directors from 1929 to 1955 and of the executive committee from 1949 to 1956. An engagement book records contracts between the company and its employees, 1902-1906. Henry Morgan's business correspondence covers the period 1847-1850, and includes a few personal letters to his brother James. Financial records cover both internal operations and stock transactions. The former are documented by an account book, 1845-1848; ledgers, 1870-1889; and diaries, 1884, 1936; the latter by lists of stock holders, 1954-1960; and records of transfers of Morgan's common stock, 1954-1961. Also included are files of invoices, receipts and cheques, 1846-1852. Publicity materials largely centre around anniversaries. Scrapbooks of newspaper clippings, other printed materials and photographs cover the years 1936-1945, culminating in the company's centennial, for which a typescript history was prepared.

Fonds consists of architectural drawings of the Royal Victoria Hospital in Montreal, Quebec, dating from 1889-1892. Also included are drawings of Ross Memorial and other later additions (1914, 1916). Drawings are in various combinations of pen and blue and black ink; brown, pink, green, blue, coloured pencils, and graphite, most laid down on board, with many on linen laid down on board, some on paper laid down on board, one on linen, one on paper. All are working drawings and include plans, elevations, sections and details. 66 drawings comprise a group of working drawings for the Royal Victoria Hospital, Montreal. The Administrative Building, Surgical Theatre, Medical Theatre, West Wing, Eastern Pavilion and Power Plant, are the main areas of concentration. Drawings for the Administration Building include the earliest floor plans, a full set of floor plans before it was reduced, including “Plan of Ground Floor or Principal Entrance Floor” which has a ‘tack on drawing’, and a complete set of plans and sections for the smaller Administration Building, signed off.

This fonds consists of professional correspondence and some business documents related to Henry Watts & Co, a company that sold land in Alberta to interested people in the Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania area. The correspondence includes both external correspondence with clients and internal communication, between employees of Henry Watts & Co as well as employees of Leighton and Gilbert (agents of the Canadian Pacific Irrigation Colonization Company), to whom they were contracted. The internal correspondence includes lists of potential buyers, discussions of plans to recruit more buyers, organizational details for excursions to Alberta to show buyers available land, sales updates, accounting information, changes in legislation that affect the sale of land, and letters documenting hiring. The external correspondence mostly consists of letters from customers seeking information about purchasing land in Canada (especially Alberta, Saskatchewan, and Manitoba) or who were interested in visiting available land for sale, with responses containing information about available land, upcoming excursions and about farming in Alberta at this time, including recommendations of profitable crops and farming methods.

The fonds is described at the file level, and is not divided into series. Files are arranged in chronological order. The fonds consists of handwritten and typed letters, typed copies of letters, and telegrams. It also includes some legal and financial documents.
