Esssays written by John William Dawson as a boy, approximately 1835-1836, written at the Pictou Academy in Pictou, Nova Scotia. Sir William would then be 15 or 16 years of age (Found amongst old papers of Sir William's by his son W. Bell Dawson). Include sone letter dated 8 March 1929 from W. Bell Dawson regarding the Essays. The ten esssays written by John William Dawson as a boy are titled: 1) On intellectual powers as a means of Knowledge; 2) On the State of Nature; 3) On the existance of a Deity; 4) On Self Regard; 5) On the Knowledge of Christ; 6) No man can serve two masters; 7) On Crime; 8) On the thre Simple forms of Government; 9) On Judgment; 10) On the Immortality of the Soul
