A review of the Whitehead residence in Canadian Homes and Gardens for December 1927 describes the house as a restoration of a true French type, retaining many of its native characteristics and augmented by modern decorative touches. Nobbs is given recognition for his great attention to detail and for his interest in the preservation of Quebec’s native architecture. Fine details of the interior include a stairway of quarter cut oak on which the newel-head is painted gold, and a leather covered and brass – studded door in the entrance hall. The living room presents beautiful views of the St. Lawrence River. “Residence of C.R. Whitehead, Esq. Trois Rivières, Quebec.
