Nobbs’s proposal for the League of Nations Assembly Hall and Secretariat at Geneva, Switzerland was described in The Architect and Building News, as “the one deserving of first mention.” Nobbs’s arrangement, placing the assembly Hall as an isolated unit, with its main frontage facing the Lake allowed for the maximum amount of light and ventilation to the offices. The interior, with imposing dimensions, breadth of scale and a very wide decorative panel, bounded at its upper extremity by the sweep of a vast curve, was considered in many respects, the finest of all interiors submitted by the competitors.
