Harlequin

An eighteenth-century puppet of Harlequin, a character from the Commedia dell'Arte. String puppet of the simpler kind, (see also P1). From a Paris puppet theatre of 1760.

"De Neus" (The Nose), one of three clown characters from the Antwerp puppet theatre. Formerly used by M. Ludovic Deschamps, director of the Caveau de la rue des Cerceaux, Antwerp. Of the simpler kind of string puppet: eyelets for vertical rods on head and right hand.
