This series documents Sharma’s teaching activities and contains courses, syllabuses and reviews for courses given at the University of Sidney (1980), McGill University (1992, 2008-2009).

Teaching Materials and Administration

The Teaching and Administration series is divided into 3 sections: course materials, administration and miscellaneous university documents. The series contains correspondence to or from Paul Pedersen, lecture/course materials and examples, assignments, examinations (blank and marked), student records and grades, and miscellaneous documents pertaining to courses taught. It also contains documents, information and correspondence to or from Paul Pedersen with respect to administration while employed at McGill University and the University of Toronto, respectively. The series is arranged chronologically, and separated by course name or subject as indicated.

Teaching materials

This series consists of teaching materials, including lecture notes, from Somerville’s comparative medical law course and advanced torts course at McGill University. Also included are files pertaining to student supervision.

Teaching Material

Series contains textual files related to Dewdney’s teaching career in the Department of Liberal Arts Studies at the Ontario College of Art in Toronto. Files include outlines for courses taught by Dewdney, department timetables, notes on assignments issued, session outlines for material covered during his courses, and an outline for a course taught by Jane Castel titled “Canadian Art History” for which he was a guest lecturer. Content covered includes “the wide range of Aboriginal cultures and languages in Canada”, the prehistoric art of five continents, pictography as communication, Norval Morriesseau and the Woodlands school, shield rock paintings, rock art and petroglyphs throughout Canada.

Teaching files, 1903-1982

Series E contains course seminar notes, copies of exams, lectures notes and correspondence. Dr. Elliott’s recommendations for students and colleagues and his academic certificates and awards are included in this series. Correspondence relating to Dr. Elliott’s visits to certain countries to teach is also included. This sub-series is comprised of 22 files (nos. 146 to 180).

Teaching and Administrative Activities

Series consists of lecture notes, course outlines and exams for courses given in areas such as Canadian politics, Canadian foreign policy, international relations and politics and communications by Dale Thomson at the Université de Montréal (1960-1969), Johns Hopkins University (1969-1973) and McGill University (1973-1994). There are also some files relating to university administrative activities. Series is arranged according to institution and courses, with individual files containing specific lecture information.

Documents concerning Pappius’s teaching activities, predominantly advising and serving on committees of M.Sc. and Ph.D. students. Some material related to teaching courses.

Teaching

A small number of files relate to Jasper’s teaching activities in the department of Physiology at the Université de Montréal, 1966-1975 (Container 8, Files 342-354). These contain class outlines, exams, and lecture notes. A list of graduate and postdoctoral students supervised by Jasper is also available, 1933-1976 (Container 8, File 348). Some administrative correspondence from the Universite de Montreal also relates to Jasper’s teaching activities, 1978-1993 (Container 4, File 194).

Teaching.

Materials relating to James' teaching career fall into two chronological categories, the Wharton period and the McGill period. The Wharton period is illustrated by office files (1927-1939) containing incoming and outgoing correspondence, reports and memoranda concerning the administration of the school and professional matters. There are also lecture notes for James' courses in finance (1926-1927), money and credit (1924-1949), theory of money and banking (ca 1939), statistics, and life insurance. The McGill material comprises lecture notes for introductory economics (1944-1949), together with some worked examination papers and approximately 15 cm of correspondence regarding the course, as well as James' relations with Québec economic groups; there are also lecture notes for a course in economic history (1940, 1954-1959).
