Page [11] contains a dedication to Forbes' daughter with the inscription: "Scribere jussit Amor. In every work regard the writer's end; Since none can compass more than they intend." Manuscript is written on laid paper, bound in half leather with marbled covered boards.

This volume contains entries related to the writer's travels to Vienna, Styria, Carniola, Trieste, Venice, Pesaro, Ancona, Loreto, a journey over the ApennineMountains, and Rome. Manuscript is written on laid paper, bound in half leather with marbled covered boards.

Consists of autograph signed letter to Forbes from the historian Charles Forbes Réne de Montalembet (the Count of Montalembert), son of Forbes's daughter Eliza Rose.
