Biographical history
William S. Huber was born in 1865 and attended Lebanon High School. Before enrolling at the University of Pennsylvania, he finished a complete course in dentistry. He was a student at University of Pennsylvania while Sir William Osler was Professor of Clinical Medicine from 1884-1888. After completing his studies, William took over his father's dental practice in Lebanon, PA, where he took over his father's practice after his death.
William was an active member of various organizations in Philadelphia. He was a member of the board of city school control and was elected to city councils, where he was serving his second term of four years as a member of the Select Council. He was also president of the Union Fire Company and a member of the board of elders of the Salem Evangelical Lutheran Church. He was a Mason and identified with the Mount Lebanon lodge, Weidle Chapter and Hermit Commandery. He was also a member of Lu Lu Temple, Reading, and the Harrisburg Consistory.

Scope and content
Includes note-books of extensive medical and dental school notes of lectures and readings that Huber transcribed while attending the University of Pennsylvania ca. 1884-1888. Also included: receipts and billing slips, ca. 1892-1903 from Huber's practice; published items such as the catalogue to the University of Pennsylvania, ca. 1885-86; miscellaneous items, including a public address in Huber's handwriting.
