Full-page valentine card featuring complex lace designs that are gilded and feature floral motifs. Multi-layered paper flowers and foilage have been glued on top. A central window shows the image on the inside of the card which an enameled card cut and embossed to ressemble a dinner plate, decorated with blue flowers. On the plate is written "To my Valentine". Upon opening the card, we see that image is pasted on one side of a folded poster pasted within the card. This can be opened to reveal a small poster with cut-out edges bordered by rosebuds and forget me nots. On the poster is a lady standing next to a barren tree overlooking cupid who is seated on a patch of flowers, writing. Three birds look at cupid. The poster bears two messages, one printed directly on the poster, and the other has been cut-out into a heart shape and pasted onto the poster. Late Victorian/Turn of the Century.
