    Biographical history

    Thomas Jenyns of Hayes, Middle Sussex, England, was born in 1671 and died in 1696. He was the son of Roger Jenyns, Esq., of Hayes. He entered Clare College at Cambridge in 1688, gaining a B.A. He entered again for an M.A. in 1696 but died that year, at 25, on May 12.

    Provenance unknown. Transferred from McGill Medical Library to Osler Library in 1939. Old accession number 246.

    Scope and content

    Fonds contains Thomas Jenyns' Commonplace book containing notes of a course of 37 lectures, from 23 May to 2 July 1692 on Anatomy, Physiology, Chemistry given by an unnamed Italian anatomist. There are also sermons in Jenyns' writing and that of an unnamed person, dated 1735. The fonds includes one book and two note sheets from W.W. Francis.
