Il parait que c'est sur la teste que Lieu ou [...] et non dessous, parceque lendroit par ou se vide les excrements en dessous ... du cote opposé [...] L'arret aderante [...] de la partie superieur / no. 44 45 Le Remore ou sucet au 1/3 de grand nat: fait au Cap le 5 juillet 1783 Rabie / no. 44. Le remore, ou sucet, au 1/3 de grandeur naturelle.

Inscription (from verso; translation): 44 / Remora. It seems that the Place [where it adheres?] is on the head, and not below, because the place by which it voids its excrements is below on the opposite side [...] The adhesion pad [...] of the upper part / no. 45 The Remora or sucker 1/3 life size: done at Le Cap 5 July 1783 Rabie / no. 44. The remora or sucker, at 1/3 life size.
