File consists of architectural drawings for power house. Includes 3 survey drawings (power station, block plan, plan and profile of city drain),1 presentation drawing (elevation of power house), 4 development drawings (ground roadway, plan of grounds, block plan, site plan of power house, section of drain).
In 1909, Nobbs was commissioned to build the Power House for McGill to provide heat and electricity to many of the campus buildings. It was located on Carleton. (Dr. Penfield) The facilities had previously been housed in the Macdonald Engineering Building that was destroyed by fire in 1907. In 1963 a new power plant was built on the same site.
