General note
The construction of a major new bridge between Ottawa and Hull at the west end of Parliament Hill required a major redevelopment of several islands and headlands in the Ottawa River, which had long been devoted to industrial use. John Schreiber created a series of park areas integrating precast concrete park furniture and "scraping of the land" to expose underlying rock strata.
