A competition entry, this project was also named Plaza de los Angeles, Jardines del Zodiaco. "Plaza of the Angels: The sundial at the centre is surrounded by twelve maze-like gardens symbolizing the signs of the zodiac. The theme of paving seeks to express cosmic forces and the elements. Angels hover over the citizens of Los Angeles as they enjoy the earthly pleasures." (source: text included in the competition drawings.)
