The McGill University Photograph Collection consists of photographs documenting the people, activities, buildings, teaching, research, administration, and social life of McGill University and its affiliated organizations. The collection includes photographs acquired from a variety of sources and formats, including prints, negatives, slides, and digital images.
This collection has been established to provide intellectual control and long-term access to photographs that are not clearly associated with an existing fonds or collection. Images are arranged and described as resources permit.

The McGill University Photograph Collection is an ongoing and growing collection. As part of a continuing migration and description project, photographs that do not have a clear archival fonds, provenance, or parent collection are being transferred into this collection. Additional photographs will be added over time as the migration process progresses and previously described or unprocessed materials are reviewed. Consequently, the scope and content of the collection will continue to expand.
