Letter to Jacob from Anne Lawford
File
1 sheet ; 0.01 cm of textual material
Anne Lawford was the mother of John Bowring Lawford, who left a substantial legacy to McGill University. She was the daughter of Charles Adamson Low, of the firm of Hamilton and Low at Hawkesbury and later resided in Montréal.
This item was donated by Mildred Low to F. Cyril James during his tenure as Principal and Vice-Chancellor in 1955. In 1966 the letter was found in a file among the papers for Principal F. Cyril James and removed to its own accession and fonds, MG 3081.
In 2018 the intellectual control was revised and the record joined the McGill University Archives Collection.
This file contains a letter from Anne Lawford recounting news of acquaintances and well-wishes for Christmas and the New Year, addressed to Anne's cousin, Reverend Jacob Low of Brockville, mentioning her son John Bowring Lawford.
Anne Lawford signs the letter, "your affectionate cousin," and mentions Jacob's wife, Anne. Anne Lawford was the mother of John Bowning Lawford. Previously in MG 3081.
