File consists of letter from James Forbes to family member Eliza Fothergill, in York. Letter is written on laid paper leaf folded in two with integral address leaf including remains of red wax seal. Letter is dated London, 26th January 1788. Letter mentions that it originally accompanied "a few trifles" for family members, including two little volumes for his niece.
