General note

The booklets contain chapters written by each student on the subject of their choice. "Under the title 'Landscape', I was really talking about relationships; of buildings to their settings; of plants to topography, orientation, geology and climate; and of people's understanding of the rules of nature which shape their environment." Source: John Schreiber's text, July 1987.Students took these assignments very seriously and carried out extensive research to complete them. Most texts are thoughtful and original and many are beautifully illustrated. All are hand-lettered, a discipline for which John Schreiber had high regard.
