The fonds consists of one 9 x 12" (23 x 30.5 cm) envelope containing a box of lecture tickets, testimonials and receipts collected by Dr. Walter J. McInnes MD 1865. The cards were issues between 1862 and 1865 and as is customary, they contain certification of Dr. McInnes' attendance and his assistance in a number of courses.
The fonds consists of admission and lecture tickets collected by Dr. O.E. Moorhouse M.D. 1889, while a medical student at McGill, 1885-1889. In addition, it also includes an invitation to Dr. Moorhouse to attend the opening of the new buildings, June 6th and 7th, 1910, and a postponement of the opening until June 1911 following the death of King Edward VII. Finally there is the Constitution and By-Laws of the New Brunswick Graduates' Society of McGill University (St. John, N.B., 1897).
The collection consists of Dr. Powles handwritten notes on some of his medical lectures between 1940 and 1943 as well as three files of course notes related to neurosurgery and neurology, 1943; psychiatry 1942-1950; and sociology, anthropology 1948-1949. There are laboratory note books with drawings, some printed copies of selected exams and printed laboratory handouts. One file contains material relating to his attendance at the Officers' Training School in Brockville, Ontario in 1944 and other papers relating to his service career. There are two maps of military exercises in the North.
In addition there are 2 files of correspondence regarding academic appointments at the University of Cincinnati (1958-1966) and Queen's University (1966- ), and one scrapbook page containing individual sketches of C.P. Martin, Hans Selye, Dr. Dworkin, and David Thompson with clippings on the reverse about a wedding.
There are twelve photographs, one of which is a group photograph of the officers at the Training School.
Most of the collection consists of certificates and diplomas awarded to Eleanor McGarry from McGill as well as from other medical associations. There are exam results from all stages of her education, souvenirs from medical student days and a small amount of personal correspondence. As well there are two bound photo albums containing studio portraits from the late 1800s, not all of which are identified.
Included in the McGarry fonds are papers from Dr. Percy Wright (b. 1882). Dr. Wright graduated from McGill (M.D. 1908). He was a consultant Otolaryngologist at the Children's Memorial Hospital (later the Montreal Children's Hospital), the Verdun General Hospital and The Catherine Booth Hospital. His collection of correspondence, journals, and lectures falls mainly between 1930 and 1939.
The Claire M. Flint fonds contains medical class notes, 3 McGill handbooks (1939-1940, 1940-1941, 1941-1942) and one "Authentic Mappe of Olde McGill" by G. Everett Wilson.
Fonds contains two admission cards of Harry C. Cunningham for the year 1883, one for the course of Microscope in Medicine signed by Sir William Osler and one for a six month ticket to the Montreal General Hospital.
Fonds shows Alphonse Allard’s activities as a medical student at McGill University from 1863 to 1865. It contains seven admission cards autographed by the teachers and also a certificate from the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Lower Canada
Fonds shows Robert Howard's activities as a medical student in 1871. It contains his lecture notes of the course on diseases of the lungs, heart and kidneys given at McGill University
