Part of Madeleine Parent Fonds
This sub-series includes various materials documenting Madeleine Parent's family and friends. Several documents relate to Parent's father, John B. Parent, such as his American citizenship, Michigan record of birth, and registration for American military service. Also included are documents related to the Hogue and Forest family. There are signed funeral guestbooks for Parent's mother, Rita Marie-Anne Hogue, and Parent's second husband, Robert Kent Rowley, and a file of sympathy letters and tributes for Rowley. There are also related materials to Rowley's death in the last series of this fonds, the Robert Kent Rowley papers (MG 4269 H).
Also documented are Parent's marriages, including her divorce from her first husband, Val Bjarnason, and marriage to her second husband, Rowley. Moreover, there is correspondence from Parent to Rowley, mostly from her trip to China in 1960. The sub-series also contains various membership cards and passports that belonged to Parent. There are photographs of Rowley's funeral, John B. Parent, portraits of Madeleine Parent, Parent's mother's family portrait (1899), and unidentified friends and family. Finally, this sub-series also contains a file of correspondence and four audio recordings related to Parent's retirement in 1983.

This sub-series consists of letters exchanged between Wilder Penfield and his family, friends, and acquaintances. The correspondence is of a general and family nature, but covers many aspects of Penfield’s life, including his financial affairs, the indemnity sought for injuries sustained in the Sussex disaster, contacts with medical and scientific men, personal friendships, and a few letters regarding his partnership with Dr. William Cone. A small amount of professional correspondence also appears in this sub-series.

This subseries consists of many of Wood's major publications in various iterations such as manuscripts, typescripts, page proofs, and galley proofs. Additionally, this subseries contains other manuscripts, research notes, photographs, prints or illustrations, correspondence, book reviews, and other materials relating directly to Wood's research projects and publications. The material is dated from 1904-1942 but focuses predominantly from 1913- 1934. Much of the subseries is composed of bound volumes, some of which contain multiple record types, either bound or mounted within the volumes.
The research and writing projects focus on the following topics and geographic regions: ornithology, Fundus Oculi (1911-1934), Wood’s family history (1920-1940), South America (1920-1921), Fiji and Fiji Islands (1920-1931), fossil eggs (1923-1925), flowers and meadows in Switzerland (1924-1934), “An Introduction to the Literature of Vertebrate Zoology,” aviculture (1925-1928), New Zealand, medieval Persian manuscripts (1927-1934), Benevenutus Grassus’ de Oculis (1930), John III, Kashmir and North India (1921-1934), Ceylon (1925, 1928, 1934), "the Art of Falconry" (1938?-1942), and Ali ibn Isa (1935-1936).
Other contributors to some publications and manuscripts include Marjorie Fyfe, Alexander Wetmore, Wladimir Ivanow, Arthur William Head, Dr. Andreas Nell, W. J. Belcher, William C. Morgan, and Marion C. Tallmon.
This subseries also contains 145 incoming and outgoing pieces of correspondence including letters and notes. Some individuals addressed include Arthur William Head, Christopher Leggo, Lillian Bates, Elizabeth E. Abbott, Cora Raymond, Dr. Richmond, W. J. Belcher, C. S. Walis, Theodore Hamblin Ltd., James R. Slonaker, and R. R. Donnelley and Sons Co.. This subseries also includes photographs of Wood’s family, professional colleagues and friends, and research and publications.

This series contains several of Dr. Penfield's personal appointment diaries, and several diaries of his wife, Helen Kermott Penfiedl. It also currently includes a photograph album from 1913-1916, a scrapbook from Dr. Penfield's time at Galahad School (1905), some miscellaneous material collected by Dr. William Feindel concerning Dr. Penfield and the Montreal Neurological Institute, and an old reprint mailing list compiled by Dr. Penfield.

Subseries consists of chiefly of Osler's correspondence collected by Cushing beginning in 1905 with Osler's appointment at Oxford University until his death in 1919. Correspondence includes both original letters and transcriptions of letters. In addition to correspondence are some accompanying notes (both by Cushing and by Osler), clippings, articles, and other ephemera related to Osler.
