File consists of notebook written chiefly at Edinburgh in 1841 by John William Dawson containing notes on zoology. Notes are in pen with some pencil drawings of specimens. Manuscript table of contents at the end lists zoological content. Three pages towards the middle of the volume appear to have been written later in the 1840s and contains tables of weather conditions tracking for 1843-1847 (including barometer readings, thermometer readings, and pluviometer readings).
This item is a medal and ribbon from WWI awarded to General H. Lipsey. The ribbon is yellow with white, black and blue stripes near the edges. The medal depicts a mounted rider whose horse is stomping on a skeleton and a shield with the coat of arms of Germany, with the years 1914 and 1918. The back of the medal has King George V in profile and the words "Georgus V Britt. Omn: Rex et In. Imp." around the edge.
This item is an octagonal wooden stamp depicting a shield with three martlets, topped by a crown, surrounded by three banners. The banners bear a variation of the McGill motto, "Grandescom aucta labore, in domino confido." Text around the edge of the block reads, "Universitas Collegii McGill, Monte Regio."
This item is a red and white pin from the 1962 McGill Winter Carnival Debating Conference. Includes a slip of paper behind a clear panel on the pin with the name Jacob de Rooy Rutgers on it.
