Extract from Archibald Malloch's journal, November 14, 1918

Extract from Archibald Malloch's journal. He examined with Osler a young man (a case of "Schwarze Zunge") at the Radcliffe. Grace looks well. Osler went at the Club. Thinks that Osler has sent off letter about Revere's memorial at the Johns Hopkins Hospital. Mentions that they live almost altogether in the dining-room.

Jokes about the fact that Thayer is a General.

Letter to Margaret E. Charlton, November 27, 1918

Letter to Margaret E. Charlton from William Osler, 13, Norham Gardens, Oxford, Oxfordshire, England. Confirms that he had received and paid the Natural Theology of Bovell. Would like to have all the other smaller books of Bovell. Has duplicates to send her when opportunities offer. Mentions the losses he had on the Atlantic during war and also of a package from Egypt. Asks her to find out who is alive of the Widmer family, of the Canniffs and of the Beaumonts. Will write to Miss Hodder and Miss Barwick for papers, books or letters of Bovell. I.H. Cameron may have H.H. Wright's papers and one of the doctors Aikins might have W.H. Aikins' papers. Asks her to ask Malloch of Hamilton if the doctors Case left any record in cases books in Hamilton. Suggests she start a special section of the library dealing with Ontario Medical History. Sends her $100 to be spent in this work. Thinks that there could be medical papers in the relics of Scadding. Information about the reference to Ruffer and Ferguson. Civilities.
