Genus Sylvia. Motacilla. Lin. Syst.

Item consists of a colour illustration of six types of eggs of woodland birds (that Forbes identifies as belonging to the genus Motacilla). Species identified in the caption are as follows: "1 Sylvia Aenanthe. Wheatear. 2 Sylvia Rubecula. Redbreast. 3 Sylvia Rubicola. Stonechat. 4 Sylvia Rubetra. Whinchat. 5 Sylvia Troglodytes. Common Wren. 6 Sylvia Regulus. Golden-crested Wren."

Item consists of a colour illustration of three types of corvid eggs, with the caption: "Genus Corvus. 1 Corvus monedula Jackdaw. 2 Corvus glandarius Jay. 3 Corvus pica Magpie."

Item consists of a colour illustration of a snake among a six-petalled pink flower (Pride of India). Figures have been cut out and pasted onto sheet with background details pencilled in. The caption identifies the species as a "Cobra Minelle," which is described in the Oriental Memoirs, volume 1, chapter 3, as "the smallest, and most dangerous; the bite occasions a speedy and painful death. They are of a brown colour, speckled with black and white, though at a distance not easily distinguished from the ground on which they move." An additional pencil annotation by Henry Mousley identifies the species as "Tropidonotus stolatus."

Dissections of the Strychnos Nux Vomica

Item consists of a colour illustration of a snake alongside dissected pieces from a strychnine tree. Figures have been cut out and pasted onto sheet. The caption identifies the tree as a "Strychnos Nux Vomica." The rest of the caption identifies the snake depicted as "a small Coluber in many parts of India; seemingly a Variety of the Cobra Minelle." An additional pencil annotation by Henry Mousley identifies the species of snake as "Tropidonotus stolatus (var.)" The drawing is signed by James Forbes and dated 1818.

Correspondence, 1835-1838

Political, business, and personal correspondence. The letters are mostly addressed to Henry S. Chapman (nine letters), with others addressed to Thomas Falconer (five letters), Samuel Revans (four letters), Chapman and Falconer (one letter) and D. Daly, possibly Sir Dominick Daly (one letter). The creators of the letters include Edmund Bailey O'Callaghan (seven letters), François Antoine LaRocque (5 letters), Louis-Hippolyte La Fontaine (four letters), Jacob DeWitt (one letter), and Claude Perrault (one letter). The earlier letters chiefly concern business interests, including the establishment of a Canadian Company house in London, as well as the partnership between LaRoque and Revans. The letters from 1837 and 1838 have a much more informal tone, and focus on political reform and the events during and following the Upper and Lower Canada Rebellions of 1837-1838.

Webb's Characters and Scenes in the Miller and his Men

Full printed colour title sheet and toy theatre characters. Characters have been cut out, and the title sheet has had characters cut out of it. The full title reads, "Webb's Characters & Scenes in the Miller and his Men, In 9 Plates of Characters, 11 Scenes, 1 Plate of Set Pieces, 1 Water Pieces and 4 Plates of Wings nos 1, 5, 29 & 30, With a book adapted only to the above."
