A young doctor, McLure, was living with Osler at 80, Union Avenue, but suddenly gave up on his study of medicine.
"Statement obtained from Dr. Minis Hays." Refers to the decision made by the Trustees of the University of Pennsylvania to select Osler to fill the vacant Chair of Clinical Medicine. Notice, from Philadelphia Medical News, of Osler's name being mentioned in connection with the Professorship of Clinical Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania. Osler has been invited to deliver the Gulstonian [sic] Lectures before the Royal College of Physicians of London.

Bastian is glad that there is a good chance of Osler obtaining the Professorship of Clinical Medicine at Philadelphia. He compliments Osler on his scientific training, his skill as a teacher, and for the contributions he has made to the advancement of science, among other things.
Letter to Henry Vining Ogden from William Osler, 14c, Terch Strasse, Leipzig, Germany. Osler has been in Germany since April 6 and was in Berlin for ten weeks with Howard. He is now working in Cohnheim's Lab. He will go to London in July and leave for home in August. He asks for Mr. Cantlie's address and sends his regards to Dr. Dorland.
