Financial Statements

Subseries contains financial statements concerning the financial accounts of the association, audit reports, investment reports, and documents created by the AOS Financial Committee.

Investments

Subseries contains documents concerning AOS’s Fidelity Investments portfolio. Two files containing status of investment reports from the AOS Finance Committee.

Membership Proposal Files

Subseries contains membership proposal files of successful and unsuccessful candidates, showing the recruitment of the association. Includes membership proposal forms, correspondence, curriculum vitae, bibliographies, an obituary notice, reprints and photographs

Honorary and Emeritus Memberships

Subseries contains documents pertaining to the selection of the honorary and emeritus members. Contains one file of correspondence between officers on the subject and eight candidates’ files. Includes membership proposal files arranged in alphabetical order. Contains membership proposal forms, correspondence, curriculum vitae, bibliographies, reprints and a list.

Ballots

Subseries contains records relating to the nomination of new members through ballots sent to all members. Includes 17 files with tally sheets, ballots, correspondence, curriculum vitae and membership proposal forms. Pre-1980, ballots files contain also membership proposal information.

Certificates and Medals

Subseries contains a sample of the certificate that is presented to new members as well as a photograph of a medal of Sir William Osler.

Program

Subseries contains the programs of the annual meeting of the American Osler Society. Includes 7 files with programs, roster of attendance and evaluation forms. Some documents are annotated or have been signed by participants.

Correspondence

Subseries contains documents of the program committee, correspondence regarding the organization and the logistic for the annual meeting, the invitations, the general information, regrets and thank you notes. Includes correspondence, drafts, preliminary programs, ballots, flyers, newspaper clippings, reprints, press release, function orders.

Accounting

Subseries contains documents relating to the budget of the annual meeting and the financial operations linked with this activity such as reimbursement of travel expenses. Includes correspondence, newspaper clipping, photocopies of checks, list statement, and a letter of agreement.
