Fonds consists of documents, which illustrate the founding, and the activities of the American Osler Society. Correspondence of the Officers

Subseries contains correspondence generated by the officers of the American Osler Association.
Contains one file of notes and photocopies complied by Earl Nation re. Geoffrey Jefferson (formerly Acc. 549), and correspondence with I.N. Dubin, M.D. (formerly Acc. 591)
Contains two files of correspondence related to the AOS during Larry Longo’s appointments of Member, Executive Council 1981-1985, 1987- present, Secretary Treasurer 1988-2000, Second Vice President 2001, First Vice President 2001-2002, President 2002-2003.
Contains two files of correspondence from Charles Roland, one file relates to correspondence for 2000/2001 and one file relates to correspondence relating to the beginnings of the AOS, and one file of materials compiled by Charles S. Ryan.

Synopsis of annual meeting presentations

Subseries consists of a project done by Dr. Clyde Partin to create a synopsis of presentations given at AOS annual meetings beginning in 1998. Includes a synopsis, presentation, and a compendium of the world’s Oslerian society presentations with rare annotations and a brief history of the various Oslerian clubs.

Survey of the American Osler Society

Subseries consists of a survey conducted by W. Bruce Fye for the twentieth anniversary of the American Osler Society, "Survey of the American Osler Society: its Goals – its Future". Members were asked to give their opinion to help in guiding the Board of Governors. Includes files containing correspondence, questionnaires, drafts, working notes, compilation, graphics and membership list.

Osler Bust

Subseries consists of information about a project of Dr. Earl F. Nation to produce a reduced copy of the Osler bust sculpted by Hans Schuler and exhibited at Johns Hopkins Hospital. Includes correspondence.

Special Projects

Series contains materials related to AOS special projects, including procuring a bust of William Osler, a survey on the American Osler Society, and a synopsis of presentations given at American Osler Society. Series includes correspondence, questionnaires, drafts, working notes, compilation, graphics, a membership list, a synopsis, a presentation, a compendium of the world’s Oslerian society presentations with rare annotations and a brief history of the various Oslerian clubs. Also includes a subject index to American Osler Society Presentations.

The Oslerian

Subseries consists of issues of the American Osler Society newsletter, The Oslerian, as well as accompanying material sent as mail-outs to members, including letters to members and reprints of articles and essays published by members or of interest to Oslerians and historians of medicine.
