Also included, here are a receipt, a genealogy of the Hertel de Cournoyer family and an arbitrators' decision on the Hertel de Cournoyer estate.
Papers (12) which include; the creation of a rente viagère; the genealogy of the Lefebvre de Bellefeuille family; and correspondence with J. Schiefflin (plantation at Cayenne), Janvier Leclerc (non-payment of lods et ventes), J.O. Plessis and L.C. Duvert (dispute over seigneurial pew), and Mme. du Serre (widow of Hertel de Cournoyer), her daughter and Thavenet, a priest (concerning claims by these two women on Seigneurie of Cournoyer).
Letters (13) to newspapers concerning both local and provincial politics, largely involving his own activities. Some of these letters were published (eg. see Le Spectateur, Canadien, 9 January 1819 and L'Ami du Peuple, de l'ordre et des lois, 29 May 1833 and 7 May 1834).
Papers (7) which include letters form J.-B. Laviolette and J. Labrie on the death of Angéliqne Marguerite Lefebvre de Bellefeuille and copies of letters to J.R. Rolland (on claim by Mme. du Serre) and J.B. Laviolette (dispute concerning mills), as well as an obligation and an acte de vente.
Contract between Jacques Ratel of L'Assomption and the outfitter Parker, Gerrard, Ogilvy & Co. Contract outlines Ratel's employment as a steersman of boats with the destination of the Bay of Quinty for the payment of 90 livres per month.
Contract between Jean Clavelle of Faubourg St. Laurent and the outfitter Parker, Gerrard, Ogilvy & Co. Contract outlines Clavelle's employment as a day labourer with the destination of the Bay of Quinty, Upper Canada, for the payment of 72 livres per month. The contract notes that he received an advance of 8 piastres and his wife is to be paid 8 piastres per month after his departure.
Contract between Abraham Ledoux of St. Hyacinth and the outfitter Parker, Gerrard, Ogilvy & Co. Contract outlines Ledoux's employment as a day labourer with the destination of Ancaster, Upper Canada, for the payment of 48 livres per month. Contract duration is for twelve months. The contract also notes that he received a blanket and 6 piastres on account, with 6 more upon departure.
