Series consists of items originally attached to scrapbook page, including a number of newspaper clippings related to the Boer War and the election campaign of 1906 between Laurier and Borden.

Certificate

Certificate issued by the Royal Infirmary, Edinburgh to Edward D. Worthington stating that he had an Annual ticket for the hospital dated 1st Nov. 1841-1st Nov. 1842 and that he signed the Album for nine periods. It is signed by A. McDougall. Handwritten.

Contains paper mounted on flyleaf with inscription: "This is to certify, that Mr. Thos. Christie obtained the First Prize for superior answering on the 'Institutes of Medicine' at an Examination held at the termination of the Session of 1845-47. signed R.L. MacDonnell M.D. Lecturer on the Institutes of Medicine McGill College; Physician to the Montreal General Hospital--Montreal April 30th, 1847" Copy of G776c 1843 Acc. 20100.

Diploma

E. D. Worthington's medical diploma received from the Faculty of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow. It is labelled "Facultas Medicorum and Chirurgorum Glascuensis" and still has the original seal attached in a round black metal casing.

Diplomas

Two of E. D. Worthington's medical diplomas on a single piece of parchment. One side is from the Montreal Medical Board and is signed by I. B. LeBourdais and L. C. Lewell. The other side is from the Province of Canada and was presented by Sir Charles Theophilus Metcalfe. The seal is attached.

Schedule of courses

A summary of Edward D. Worthington's education in Edinburgh during the years 1833 to 1843. On the outside are listed the prescribed courses. The inside section entitled 'Course of Study' is divided into winter and summer sections and for each Worthington has supplied the subject of lectures, name of professor, place where attended and the duration of couses. The back is addressed To the Treasurer of the Royal College of Surgeons, Edinburgh. Handwritten and printed.
