Letter from E. D. Worthington to A.G.(?)

Letter from E. D. Worthington to? A.G.(?) recommended the dismissal of the voluntary officers for having held meeting contrary to the Queen's Regulations. Worthington states that the officiers believed they were not offending any militia law. Handwritten.

Letter

Letter from (Signature undeciferable) to Hon. A.P. Caron. This is addressed to the Minister of Militia and adds to what was stated by Major Morehouse with reference to the 53rd Battalion. He states that the officers cannot be judged by Queen's Regulations since it is not Regular Service. Handwritten.

Testimonial

A small piece of dark green paper with the words "Worthington Testimonial 1865". Handwritten.

Newspaper Clipping

Newspaper clipping entitled 'Old and new' beg. "a lady writes to me'. She is referring to the allusions made to Dr. Worthington in the Gazette and says he was an old friend of hers and her father. Printed.

Letter from Francis D. Campbell(?) to E. D. Worthington on the letterhead of the New York Insurance Co. It is a reply to Worthington's letter in which he requests that Campbell look into the attack made on the train. Campbell declines as he feels this action might cause the men to claim damages. Col. Fletcher is mentioned. Handwritten.

Militia General Orders from A. de Salaberry, Quebec to E. D. Worthington. He is appointed Surgeon to the whole of the volunteer force at Sherbrooke.

Statement

Statement gives the amounts paid to Mr. Hendery on July 20 and August 11 for the silver tea set purchased by the committee for Worthington's Testimonial. Handwritten.

Letter from E. D. Worthington to Lt. Col. Fletcher

Letter from E. D. Worthington, Sherbrooke to Lt. Col. Fletcher, Montreal. It describes the behaviour of the 53rd and 54th Battalions on their return from Montreal. E.D. Vi. reports that he heard Major Beaudry's name mentioned in a song in connection with a famed 'Sour Apple Tree', He noticed no orange emblems. No shots were fired from the train but shots and stones were thrown at them. Reference to Lt. Col. Ibbotson, and Lord Alymer. On the top of the first sheet the words "Re Orange Riot" have been written in red. Handwritten.
