The drafts are not always easy to distinguish in terms of chronological sequence, but an effort was made during the initial processing to roughly order the drafts by version and divide them by chapter. Also included are notes for additions and deletions, labeled “Adds and Outs.” At times, some research notes and primary Penfield material are interfiled with the drafts. This series also includes a draft of the screenplay for the film.

This series also contains a few letters sent by Lewis to acquaintances of the Penfield’s, who responded to Lewis’ request by returning material sent by the Penfield’s to others and retrieved by Lewis by request. This series also contains a small amount of correspondence concerning the Penfield property at Magog Meadows.
