Contract between Louis Balcomb, Francois Plante of St-Cuthbert, Jean-Baptiste Quay of La Riviere a la Graisse and outfitter Archibald Norman McLeod, partner, for McTavish, McGillivrays & Co. The voyageurs receive 10 piastres, will receive 6 when leaving. Only for this outfit have we seen various voyageurs signing up together. Contract duration is three years. Payment is for 700 livres per annum. Position given as "wintering" milieu. Destination of posts of the Northwest in Upper Canada.
