The series consists of 20 maps produced by Meteorological Service, Dominion of Canada, showing only southern Canada. Each map depicts the average temperatures and precipitation for the month across the country. For the year 1886, there are several duplicates of some months. The years of 1895 and 1897 are incomplete.

This series consists of research, writing, and correspondence files relating to Casey Wood's major and minor publications and unpublished works, as well as, others assisting in Wood's publications, research, or writing about Wood. The majority of the research and writing materials for Wood's published and unpublished works were created between 1920-1940, while other materials collected during Wood's life, those associated with his memoir and obituary, date from approximately 1850-1943.
Some prominent writings by Wood include “Introduction to the Literature of Vertebrate Zoology” (1921-1956), his unpublished memoir (ca. 1850-1939), “Fundus Oculi” (1911-1934), Wood family history (1920-1940), “Birds of Fiji” (1920-1928), “Through Forest and Jungle in Kashmir and North India” (1921-1934); Persian, Arabic and Hindustani manuscripts (1927-1934); and “The Art of Falconry” (1942).
The series consists of many volumes and files containing a number of record types including manuscripts, typescripts, proofs, publications, photographs, correspondence, clippings, printed material, postcards, journals, administrative and financial records, and artwork. Some of the volumes are scrapbooks containing many of these materials mounted within, while others include similar materials bound within. These volumes do not necessarily have a clear organization but are sometimes arranged chronologically or by correspondent.

There are 2230 incoming and outgoing pieces of correspondence including letters, postcards, notes, telegrams, and cards. Subseries 1) Introduction to the Literature of Vertebrate Zoology includes 1313 pieces of correspondence, the largest number of correspondence within the collection.

This series consists of 30 bound volumes either published by Casey A. Wood, used for reference during his research and writing projects, or published on his professional career and publications. The volumes are dated from 1907-1981, with predominant dates from 1923-1936. Wood's publications focus on his international work in ornithology between 1915-1936 and were published in prominent ornithological journals such as the Smithsonian Report, Auk, Ibis, Bird-Lore, Condor Magazine, McGill Publications, etc.

Two volumes contain a number of Wood’s published books and one also includes newspaper clippings related to Fiji, Ceylon, Sinhalese coins, and McGill Library collection materials. One volume of "A Collection of Birds from the Fiji Islands" includes presentations notes from W. J. Belcher on birds from Fiji dated December 14, 1936.

The files used for Wood’s research dated from 1907-1937 include publications on Emperor Frederick II and falconry, English-Italian dictionaries, and ornithology library catalogues. This series also contains the 1981 Casey Wood Bio-bibliography compiled by E. C. Astbury. Not all of Wood’s publications are present within this series, however various iterations of the manuscripts or parts of manuscripts not represented within this series may be present in other series.

This series consists of glass plate negatives and other photographic materials with their original boxes relating to the Feather Book, ornithology, falconry, McGill University Library, and Casey Wood. The majority of the glass plates were produced in Berlin, Germany by Agra, while a few were produced in London, England and Toronto, Canada; which is indicated on the boxes the plates were contained in. On many of these boxes, McGill University librarian Dr. G. R. Lomer’s name appears, indicating these plates and photographic materials were used for library-related activities. Most of the plates, photographs, and photographic negatives (1927, 1930, 1956) show pages from the Feather Book by Dionisio Minaggio. Other glass plate negatives and photographic material depict artwork or images relating to ornithology and falconry, a portrait of Casey Wood (1927), Gronvold’s painting of Wood’s parrot John III (1930?), an ornithological archeological exhibit in the Redpath Library (1924), and library stacks in the Redpath Library (1924).

Series consists of materials relating to Armstrong's publication of "A Taste of Quebec" (published 1995 and updated 2001), including promotional materials and book reviews. It also contains records related to her many speaking engagements on Quebec cuisine and Quebec food history, including to the Ontario Historical Society, Tourisme Québec, and academic and culinary conferences. Her speeches files include handwritten and typewritten transcripts and speaking notes, with post-it notes indicating where certain topics are mentioned or with other annotations.

Series consists of files documenting Julian Armstrong's leadership in culinary organizations such as Cuisine Canada and her participation as a judge in cooking contests.

This series was originally filed by Mappin almost completely alphabetically by author, topic, or publisher/publication name. The textual material is essentially Mappin’s private antiquarian book collection and contains such items as early printed booklets, pamphlets, broadside sheets, clippings and handwritten notes. The graphic materials in this series are commercial ephemera consisting of receipts, letterheads, and telegraphs, and include some trade and political posters. Sound recordings include 45 rpm recordings of Joël Denis’s song Vas-Y-Cardinal and a speech by Quebec pliticain Jean-Guy Cardinal
The collection is almost entirely Canadiana focused, some of the more prominent file titles include: Bernard Amtmann, Imperial Federation, L'affaire Guibord, Richler, Mappin / Holden Affair, Lionel Groulx, Ignace Bourget, Henri Bourassa, Lawrence Lande, George Étienne Cartier, William Lyon Mackenzie King, the Eastern Townships and Montreal History.

This series contains personal writings by John Mappin himself. Primarily notes on Canadian authors. Includes notes related to a brief submitted to the Parliamentary Committee on the Constitution. Also includes several drafts, and a final copy, of his Master's thesis, "The Political Thoughts of Francis Masers".

This series contains financial records related to business and personal activities. The files include payslips, grant payments, credit card and income tax statements, invoices, bankbooks. This series is mostly located in Container 4, 5, and 10. Some files in Series 5 also contain financial records (please see the file descriptions).

This series consists of poems written by Endre Farkas. Many of them are sorted alphabetically. All documents relating to other poets and poetry-related endeavours. Newsletters and bulletins from the Montreal Poets’ Information Exchange are also included.
