He has seen the Boyds and plans to visit with the Sheppards before he leaves. He is sorry to leave London, as he has enjoyed the year he spent there. Includes manuscript notes.
Letter to Jennette Osler from William Osler, Vienna, Austria. Osler is on his way to Paris, where he will meet with his friend Hutchinson. He has been reading Shakespeare, for some light reading. Letter to Francis John Shepherd from William Osler, Montreal, Quebec, Canada. Osler writes to inform Shepherd that at the recent meeting of the Faculty of Medicine of McGill, Shepherd was appointed Demonstrator of Anatomy. Osler recommends some courses in London and Vienna that Shepherd should attend before his appointment in August. He suggests that Shepherd take a course on the Microscope with Klein at the Brown Institute. Dr. Campbell has resigned as the chair of Surgery at McGill, but remains as Dean of the Faculty. Fenwick has succeeded Campbell, and Roddick has been appointed to Chemical Surgery.
Letter to (Mrs. Barrett) Edith G. (née Greenough) Wendell from William Osler, 1351, St. Catherine Street, Montreal, Quebec, Canada. Cushing's manuscript notes regarding Edith Wendell and her first impressions of Osler when they met in Tadoussac in 1877 [see CUS417/73.5]. Includes letter from Osler to Wendell [née Greenough], in which he expresses his sympathy upon the death of her sister. He sends a small volume that will recall pleasant memories of Tadoussac.

He informs Greenough of his resent appointment as Attending Physician to the Montreal General Hospital, which delayed his trip to England. He writes of his working holiday in London and his visit with family in Cornwall. Includes handwritten draft of p. 169 of volume I of Cushing's biography of Osler.
