However, he would like to form a national association, which could prepare the way for an International Congress on Tuberculosis in the U.S. in 1906 or 1907. From what he has heard, he maintains that Lewis's Congress will be a discredit to the country and to the medical profession.

He would like to organize instead a United States Society for the Prevention of Tuberculosis, with Trudeau as president and Jacobs as secretary, which could make arrangements to bring the International Congress on Tuberculosis to the U.S.
