McGill Shakespeare Medal, 1864

This item is a McGill medal commemorating the tercentenary of William Shakespeare's birth. One side of the medal has a an image of Shakespeare in profile with the words "Shakspere [sic], 1564-1616." The other side bears a McGill coat of arms and "Shakspere [sic] Tercentenary, 1864, for English literature" inside a decorative cross, with "McGill College, Montreal" in a ring around the edge of the medal.

This item is a medal depicting two figures, a naked man and a clothed man blowing into a horn, on one side, and a variant of the McGill coat of arms on the other, a shield with three martlets, topped with a crown, with a partial wreath of maple leaves, and the words: "McGill University, Montreal."

Canadian Officer Training Corps bottle

This item is a glass C.O.T.C. bottle that belonged to C.C. Jennings. The bottle is clear and frosted glass with a green and yellow label painted onto the glass. Label has McGill shield and crossed rifles with "C.O.T.C., McGill University" in yellow and "C.C. Jennings" in green beneath the label.

C.I.R.F.U. Champions cap

This item is a Canadian Intercollegiate Rugby Football Union (CIRFU) championship cap from 1906, belonging to Alan H.N. Kennedy. The cap is red velvet with wire trim and wire embroidery of "1906 Champions C.I.R.F.U." and a McGill shield.

McGill tobacco tin

This item is a green tin for "McGill Mixture" tobacco with decorations and image on the top of people playing rugby or football on the green in front of the McGill arts building and Redpath Museum. The tobacco was manufactured by A.E. Morris, successor to Nathan Michaels. Note on back of tin reads: "Notice! The Manufacturer of the Tobacco has complied with all requirements of Law. Every person is cautioned under penalties of Law not to use this package for Tobacco again."
