McGill dinner invitations, menus, and programmes

This file contains invitations, programmes, and menus for McGill-affiliated dinners, including convocation lunch, graduation and reunion dinners, and dinners given by people or organizations affiliated with McGill. Interesting highlights include a dinner in honour of Maurice Duplessis (7 January 1937) and a dinner honouring "members of the South African Contingents" (19 April 1901). Two menus from 1920-1921 belonged to Maude E.M. Olding, and four invitations from 1982 belonged to R.E. Bell.

McGill Royal Visits ephemera

This file contains McGill ephemera related to royalty and royal visits, including flyer with information about 1939 royal visit; programme for a lunch given for the royal visit of Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh, to open of new students' residences (1962); announcement of the visit of the Duke and Duchess of Cornwall and York (19 September 1901).

Discus Throw Medal

This item is a discus throw medal with a red and cream ribbon. The medal is in three parts, connected by decorative chains, one that reads "Discus throw," one shaped into 1903, one bearing a shield with three martlets, topped by a crown, with text "McGill U.A.A." and surrounded by a cross. Probably won by W.P. Ogilvie.

One Mile medal

This item is a one mile medal awarded to A.W. Sheppard of University of Toronto. Medal is topped by a beaver, medal face bears coats of arms of McGill and University of Toronto, surrounded by text that reads: "Universities, McGill, Toronto."
