File consists of files on the history of cookbooks in Canada, including correspondence, clippings, copies or photocopies of articles, including from the New York Times and Publisher's Weekly, and some of Armstrong's manuscript notes. letters with lists of cookbooks. Correspondence consists partially of letters to Armstrong from readers regarding an article on old cookbooks. Other correspondence is related to historical cookbooks in library collections. In particular, correspondence with Elizabeth Driver refers to her preparation of a bibliography of Canadian cookbooks and her research. Related documents also include two typescripts of a talk on Canadian cookbook history, a copy of a news article on the project (print-out on continuous paper), and a press release from the University of Guelph media relations office on the project. File also includes a typescript of speech by Armstrong given to the Ontario Historical Society May 3 1996: "The Rise of the Printed Word"
