The file primarily contains letters and envelopes from Wilder Penfield to his wife Helen Kermott Penfield during their times apart. The letters are often addressed ‘Dear Choux’ or ‘Dear Little Girl’ and include letters about work, their children, and the trip in general. It includes a letter filled with scenes from Montreal, two postcards to his children Ruth Mary and Wilder II and a single letter from a Emily H. Pratt, thanking Helen for her hospitality.

• Microscope slide box, hinged tops with brass clasps, measuring 19 x 28 x 3 cm. Covered in green cloth. Has wooden slots for 100 slides.
