Letter to Sir John MacAlister from William Osler. The Historical Section of the Royal Society of Medicine has approved Osler's scheme to restore the Tomb of Avicenna at Hamadan. Osler will also seek approval from the Presidents of the College of Physicians and the College of Surgeons, and would like the work to be done under the auspices of the French Society for the History of Medicine. He is also awaiting official sanction from the Persian Government.

He told Hebert, an old fellow student of his at Montreal, not to use any of his letter in an advertisement. He wrote to the British Medical Journal to have his name removed. Mentions that Hebert was a shady fellow of the Medical Chirurgical and knows nothing of his work. He only knows that Hebert is badly mixed up in that French case.

Kinnicut has already written to him. Mentions that he is not a man to be hurried in these matters. Cushing's note that can be read p.127 and first paragraph p.128, volume II.

Zotique Hebert affair is that if the British Gynecological Society did not remove his name, and if the forms have been sent, the Council of the Royal Medical Society should determine if he is fit and the proper person.
