He has sent one letter to the College of Physicians in Philadelphia. The young Laennec book is fascinating. Mentions their week at Skibo with the Laird. He went to Dundee at the British Association meeting and saw many old friends. He spent a day at St. Andrews, the only British University he had not seen. Spent a few hours at the Library of the University of Edinburgh, going over their medical incunabula. He saw the third copy of the original Restitutio Christianismi of Servetus, which also has in manuscript the draft of a letter sent to Calvin. Mentions the visit of the Mallochs with their son Archie. Comments on the health of Malloch. Civilities.

Asks him to take care of Charles Williams, Stafford of Dublin, and Newsholme. Sorry that Bulstrode could not come as he is one of the best. He had been busy with the revision of his text-book (due Oct.1st) and writing an article for Allbutt's system. Warren, Anders, J. William White, and Keen has visited him. He will send him from the New York House his Alabama Student. McCrae is getting married today. Compliments on his photos of his house. He is off October 1st. Mrs. Osler will join him later when Revere will be settled at school. Will see Vernon about the medallion which is the best thing done on him. Suggests that the reading room of the Faculty Building be called after Charles Frick. Civilities.

Denys, the well-known bacteriologist, was with them. Osler is a bit sceptical about the tales of the refugees. Mentions that the Examination Schools is now a big hospital for 450 beds.
