Ralph's College Snapshots and Mementos

This item is an album containing personal photographs and ephemera. The photos include portraits, group shots, and many agricultural photos, as well as photos of railway construction, cars, and aeroplanes. The ephemera include dance cards, programs for convocations and concerts, invitations to social events. The owner of the album was a student at Macdonald College, probably in agriculture.

Student Sketch book for Histology

This item is a student sketchbook owned by J.H. Atkinson with the label "Dr. N.D. Gunn's Histological sketching book." Contains approximately 75 microanatomy sketches, mostly in colour. Has a loop for a pen or pencil attached to top of back cover.

C.I.R.F.U. Champions cap

This item is a Canadian Intercollegiate Rugby Football Union (CIRFU) championship cap from 1906, belonging to Alan H.N. Kennedy. The cap is red velvet with wire trim and wire embroidery of "1906 Champions C.I.R.F.U." and a McGill shield.

James Watt Medal

This item is a James Watt medal from 1884. One side of the medal bears a wreath surrounded by the words, "In memory of the Meeting of the British Association at Montreal, 1884. The other side has a profile of James Watt with the words, "Presented at McGill University, Montreal, Prize for applied sciences."

McGill tobacco tin

This item is a green tin for "McGill Mixture" tobacco with decorations and image on the top of people playing rugby or football on the green in front of the McGill arts building and Redpath Museum. The tobacco was manufactured by A.E. Morris, successor to Nathan Michaels. Note on back of tin reads: "Notice! The Manufacturer of the Tobacco has complied with all requirements of Law. Every person is cautioned under penalties of Law not to use this package for Tobacco again."
