Series contains Edel’s personal materials, including notes and drafts for his memoirs, correspondence and notebooks from the war years, family correspondence with Edel's wife Roberta, brother Abraham and other family members, and notebooks kept while abroad during the 1940s.

Series consists of manuscripts of writings by other authors, including Harold Clarke Goddard’s “Alphabets of the Imagination”, for which Edel wrote the preface, and Sandra Djwa’s “The Politics of the Imagination: A Life of F.R. Scott”.

Series consists of clippings, notes, papers and other ephemera collected by Edel on various significant literary figures. One thematic file is devoted to 19th-century English literature.

James Joyce research files

Series consists of Edel's notes and research files on James Joyce. Also includes Edel's publication "Joyce: The Last Journey," with revisions and related clippings and correspondence.

Henry James : Research Files

Series consists of various research files created by Edel in the course of his work on Henry James. The majority of files are copies of original sources, such as the diaries of Theodora Bosquanet, James's amanuensis. Includes numerous off-prints related to James's various novels, Edel's notes on James's letters and correspondents, and ephemera such as book jackets and drafts. Many notes, drafts, and miscellany relate to Edith Wharton and Percy Lubbock.

Henry James : manuscripts and drafts

Series consists of drafts, proofs, and corrected manuscripts of Edel's extensive publications on Henry James, as well as for the text of a CBC documentary series on Henry James. Also includes manuscripts, notes, and corrections for Edel's publication, "Some memories of Edith Wharton."
